Another Chance

I want to first formally apologize to all my readers but I was enjoying my vacation back home and got side-tracked! But, I'm back in Canada now and ready to share some more experiences with you!
So back in 2007, my friends and I went to Spanish Wells (island in the Bahamas) for the day. You have to take a powerboat over to get to the island.

Now Spanish Wells back in the day (not sure if it's still this way) was the place all the young people went to go to have photos taken at the photo studio, and go and have some good food and maybe go to the arcade that was in town.
When you go to Spanish Wells, you go dressed to kill (a.k.a looking your best) and you can also rent golf carts, which back then were really cheap to rent for a day.

So here's what happened. A few of my friends and I decided to go to Spanish Wells for the day to take photos with our new godson and enjoy some good food.
None of us had our driver's licenses as yet....but, we still managed to rent a golf cart.
So, as we're driving and going down a hill (not speeding), and I'm trying to make a left turn and the wheel YUCKS and the golf cart takes a hard right, and we slam into a wall!
My godson was only 5 months old at the time and during the impact he fell out of his mother arms and onto the floor of the gold cart!
I had never been so scared in my life!
Thank God, he wasn't hurt, he was just scared....all of us were.
Luckily though, there was this guy who saw what happened and he went with us back to the golf cart rental place to let them know that the accident wasn't our fault (the golf cart was no longer drivable).
That was the firs time I encountered God's grace and given another chance. That accident could've been much worse.
We could've been in real legal trouble for driving without a licence....BUT God! I say we because we each took turns driving the golf cart that day.
Let's now fast forward to I think it may have been early 2009.
During my Acadia days, when school would close for Christmas or Summer, because the airport was so far away from the school and the price was so costly to get there, students would ride together and split the cost of the taxi.

My friends and I were coming back from Christmas break and we decided to share a taxi back to Wolfville, which is an hour away from the airport.
I was jet lagged so bad that I fell asleep in the car, but not before noticing the horrible road conditions.
So, anyways I fall asleep and the next thing I know people are screaming and I can feel the car spinning.
I open my eyes and the car is spinning in CIRCLES! We had hit black ice!

I was so afraid that I began to pray and ask God to stop the car from spinning. Next thing I knew, the car came to a complete stop directly in front of this very deep ditch!

If we had spun for a second more, I'm sure the car would've fell into the ditch and we all may have died...it was scary.
The taxi driver was so panicked, and who can blame him, because he was driving well below the speed limit and then that happened!
He asked us if we were alright and then we all took a minute to compose ourselves.
I don't know about the rest of my friends, but I was flooded in tears.
Things can happen so fast, and my life could have been cut short at the age of 18.
God is so faithful.
This blog is to remind us all to not take anyone or anything that we have for granted. Always tell your loved ones how you feel, and continue to hold them close and appreciate them each day.
I thank God for giving me another chance at life in both instances, because in both experiences I could've been seriously hurt, or worse....dead.
